Frequently Asked Questions

Find quick answers to common questions about Octolin’s features, plans, licensing, and troubleshooting. Visit the documentation page for more details.

What is a customer portal?

The customer portal is a secure, Paddle-hosted interface where you can view and manage your Octolin subscriptions. From the portal you can update payment methods, download invoices, upgrade or downgrade your plan, and cancel your subscription—all in one place.

How do I cancel my plan?

Go to the Paddle customer portal and sign in using the same email address you used to make the purchase.

Under Subscriptions, locate your Octolin plan.

Click Manage and then Cancel Subscription.

Confirm cancellation. Once you cancel, you’ll retain access until the end of your billing period, and you'll not be charged again.

Can I cancel my plan after the trial period is over?

Yes. You can cancel at any time—before, during, or after the trial.

During Trial (first 10 days): Cancel from the portal and you won’t be charged.

After Trial: Cancel to prevent the next renewal; your access remains active until the end of the paid period.

Do you offer refunds?

Annual Plans: Pro-rated refunds are available if requested within 30 days of purchase. The first month is non-refundable.

Monthly & Lifetime Plans: Non-refundable after purchase.

For refund requests, please contact support with your order number and reason, and we’ll handle it as per our refund policy.

What is Paddle?

Paddle is our payment processor and subscription management partner. They handle all billing, invoicing, and customer-portal functionality on our behalf, ensuring secure, PCI-compliant transactions.

Why do I see the “logixbeyond” name?

Octolin is operated by LogixBeyond — when you make a payment, Paddle displays our registered legal name, “LogixBeyond,” as the vendor.

How are payments processed?

All payments go through Paddle’s secure checkout:

  • Client-side token: Ensures customer data never passes through our servers.

  • PCI-compliant: Card data is handled entirely by Paddle.

  • Instant license delivery: Upon successful payment, your license key is generated and emailed automatically.

Do I need a license for activation?

Yes. After purchasing, you’ll receive a unique license key via email. Enter this key in Octolin’s About → License section to unlock all features.

How safe is Octolin on my LinkedIn ID?

Octolin uses only your credentials to log in—it never posts or interacts on your behalf. All scraping mimics human browsing with configurable delays and respect for rate limits.

Tip: If you’re scraping only job listings, consider increasing
the delays for each step in Settings → Anti-Blocking to further reduce detection risk.

Can I scrape without using my ID?

You can run Octolin without logging in, but detail scraping (company info, job descriptions, etc.) requires a LinkedIn login to access full data.

What is “login with cookies” inside the “detail scraping” option?

When enabled, Octolin saves your authenticated session cookies after you log in once. On subsequent runs, it reuses those cookies instead of re-entering credentials, speeding up startup and avoiding extra login steps.

Can I control scraping speed?

Absolutely. In Settings → Anti-Blocking, you can:

Adjust delay between steps

Set a randomization range

Limit parallel threads

Slower speeds further reduce the chance of being flagged by LinkedIn.

Do I need to “Save credentials” when Chrome prompts?

Yes. Allowing Chrome to save your LinkedIn credentials makes the “login with cookies” feature work seamlessly by keeping your session active.

Why do I see some missing records in the final output?

Missing fields usually mean:

The data simply isn’t present on that LinkedIn page

LinkedIn changed its page layout or the XPath we use no longer matches

If you suspect an XPath change, you can update it under Settings → XPath.

Why, during scraping, does the Octolin log display “not found”?

“Not found” indicates the scraper couldn’t locate a page element. Common causes are temporary loading delays or LinkedIn’s page updates.

Try:

Increasing your delay settings.

Verifying and, if needed, updating the relevant XPath.
